About TOGAF®

TOGAF® (The Open Group Architecture Framework) enables planning, designing and controlling of changes in the organization in a consistent way, both on the IT and business levels. As the current state, the target state and the route from the current to the target state are all described, TOGAF® perfectly supports the implementation of transformation programs.

It is a well-recognized standard which is growing in popularity. According to the latest estimates, its current share of the  world corporate architectural market stands at about 60%.

TOGAF® is a universal, independent from providers standard that provides methods and tools for developing, implementing and maintaining corporate architecture.

It offers a conception of building architecture practices in organizations. In the case of organizations wanting to implement or expand corporate architecture it is a great tool with which to build it. TOGAF® allows them to define appropriate architectural processes that take into account the organization specifics, name roles and responsibilities, determine the organization structure, define the structure of  architecture repository, and create templates of architectural products. It also provides many useful tools and technics with application examples.

TOGAF® defines four architecture domains: business architecture, data architecture, application architecture and technical architecture. It also can be successfully used to create architecture based on, for example, the SOA concept. TOGAF® should be combined with other management areas, such as portfolio, program or project management.
