Foundation Training

This Praxis Foundation course has been designed to familiarise candidates with the principles, goals, tools and techniques in the Praxis Project, Programme and Portfolio Management (P3M) functions, provide an overview of the Praxis process models and an understanding of the interpersonal skills required of a P3 manager. The content of the Praxis Foundation course is derived from the www.Praxisframework.org website, which is available free to the candidates.

Target Group

This training course is designed for:

  • project and/or programme managers,
  • project/programme team members,
  • board members
  • directors involved in project boards, programme boards and steering committees.

Pre-requsites

General knowledge of the characteristics of projects and common tasks of the project manager.

Note: Before the training participants receive a pre-course pack comprising of joining instructions and directions to access the Praxis website.

Style of the Course

It is intended that the course style should be very ‘participative’ and, as a result, candidates should be encouraged to contribute their own experiences throughout the course.  This will require a much more ‘facilitative’ style of teaching from the course tutor. Case study scenarios should be used throughout the course, together with your own and candidates’ practical experience, to illustrate the course materials and provide ‘practical’ examples – it is important that you can compare and contrast the application of the approach to different environments.

Duration

3 days
