What is ITIL 4?
ITIL 4 is a new version of service management good practices.
It introduces components such as the Service Value System (SVS) and the Four Dimensions model. The new ITIL 4 approach is also related to new ways of working, such as Lean, Agile and DevOps.
How to manage IT services to provide customers with the right quality of service, tailored to the needs of customers and users? Who should define the needs regarding scope and quality of IT services? What service parameters should be measured to improve quality of service provided? Should there be a different approach while IT services delivery are provided by internal IT departments or by external entities?

ITIL 4 certification scheme
The first level of ITIL 4 certification is the Foundation level. The Foundation exam is now available (since Feb 2019).

Above the Foundation level, five examinations / certificates will be available in the future:
Getting certified in the first four qualifications will result in obtaining the ITIL Managing Professional (MP) title, while the last two from the above list will allow to obtain the ITIL Strategic Leader title (SL) title. Please note that one of the exams, ITIL Strategist: Direct, Plan & Improve, is required in both of these paths - you only need to pass it once.
To obtain the ITIL Master title it will be necessary to complete both paths, so obtaining ITIL Managing Professional and ITIL Strategic Leader certificates is a must. Details of the ITIL Master will be published at a later date.
Only one bridging exam is going to be available - ITIL Managing Professional Transition. It is addressed to people who hold the ITIL v3 Expert title or they are missing only the ITIL v3 MALC certification on their way to ITIL Expert.
ITIL v3 Intermediate
Until specialist ITIL 4 certifications become live (not earlier than second half of 2019), ITIL v3 Intermediate training and certifications are still available.
They do not lose anything in terms of their usefulness for the work of IT specialist and IT manager! Collecting the appropriate number of credits from ITIL Intermediate certificates is also the way to go to the ITIL 4 certification path.
